Whatsapp Invitations and Notifications
In addition to SMS and Emails, communications can be sent to the invitees via WhatsApp messages as well. WhatsApp provides a better experience and robust delivery.
WhatsApp can be activated for the invitees with their phone numbers. Once activated they will receive WhatsApp messages instead of SMS. (Not applicable if the phone number isn't available on WhatsApp)
Activating the Whatsapp Invitations and Notifications
Step 1: Click on the “Account” option then go into the ‘Department’ tab and then click on the ‘Invitee configurations’
Step 2: Switch on the ‘ Enable WhatsApp for Communications with Signers’ toggle

Once the document is created, on the invitee page, enter the invitee's phone number to send the document for signing or reviewing.

Note: The user can turn the toggle off for “Activate WhatsApp” (in case no number is provided).
Note: If the user enters only an Email ID and activates WhatsApp. On Saving the details, a toast message will be shown “WhatsApp can’t be linked to an Email ID” and Toggle for “Activate WhatsApp” would be turned off Turn on ‘Send Whatsapp Notification’ under the invitee level options
When the user completes the Invite and clicks on Next, If the expiry day is more than 2 days and WhatsApp is enabled for at least 1 invitee, the user will be shown a warning as below.
Note: The expiry of the document can be changed, click here to know the steps to change the expiry of the document
Configuring Whatsapp Invitations and Notifications in the workflow:
While creating the workflow, - on the ‘invite’ configuration step, toggle on “Activate WhatsApp” for the invitee .
If the user selects ‘enter both’, toggle for “Activate WhatsApp” will be shown under Phone Number.
Note: For WhatsApp-enabled invitees, only WhatsApp messages (not SMS) would be sent.
Whatsapp Notification & Messages
Click on “eSign Now” button to sign the document.
The invitee will receive other messages too such as reminders, expiry, and completion notifications.
