Visual Sign Impression

Visual Sign Impression

Visual Sign Impression is a new eSign type that offers a non-digital signature without timestamps. Unlike traditional digital signatures, Visual Sign Impression captures an image of a hand-drawn signature, computer-generated signature, uploaded signature, or fingerprint image and affixs it to the document. This feature is designed to address specific use cases where timestamped digital signatures are not suitable.

How to Enable Visual Sign Impression

  1. Go to Home > Accounts Tab.

  2. Select Department from the left panel and open the eSignature tab.

  3. Enable Visual Sign.

  4. Choose the sub-types to include in the sending journey.

  5. (Optional) Mark Visual Sign as Default to apply it to all invitees by default.

  6. Click Update.

Sending Journey

Warning: Do not upload previously digitally signed documents for Visual Sign Impression. Existing signatures will be invalidated once a document is signed using Visual Sign.

  1. Select the Visual Sign option under the Signature Type dropdown.

  2. Allow invitee to:

    1. Draw signature

    2. Choose computer-generated signature

    3. Affix fingerprint image

    4. Upload physical signature

  3. The rest of the signing journey is the same as other eSign processes.

Important Note

  • Other eSign types cannot be selected with Visual Sign Impression for an invitee. Selecting Visual Sign will automatically toggle off other eSign types and vice versa.

  • Visual Sign invitees must be added before any other eSign types.

  • Only reviewers can be added before the Visual Sign invitees.

  • NeSL Sign can come after the Visual Sign but not before it.

  • Signing orders for documents containing Visual and Automated Visual signs will always be enforced.

Signed Document

The signed document will only show the signature appearance. Details like Leegality Document ID and timestamps will not be shown.

In the audit trail, only the signature type will be shown.

Note: PDF readers will not detect Visual Sign Impression as a digital signature.
