Custom mapping of workflow spreadsheet template

What is custom mapping?

Leegality allows you to send documents for signing using a Leegality generated spreadsheet template in which variable document information and signer parameters can be filled.

However, your organization may be using a software that generates a spreadsheet in its own format - with columns differing from the Leegality spreadsheet. , being forced to enter data that is already present with the user in another format into the Leegality spreadsheet can cause massive duplication of effort.

The custom mapping feature solves this problem.

The custom mapping feature allows you to map your internal spreadsheet to the fields available in the Spreadsheet generated by Leegality in order to facilitate user format spreadsheet upload instead of Leegality spreadsheet template

The Leegality spreadsheet template is formed on the basis of the fields (configured in the template) and invitees (configured in the workflow)and as you can see the fields ‘Name of borrower’ has been repeated 3 times (twice in the template and once as the invitee name), Loan Amount has been repeated twice.

Leegality’s spreadsheet also contains various fields like IRN, Document Name, Field ID which might not be of use from a user perspective.

In the above picture, you can see some fields have been repeated which will need to be filled separately in the Leegality spreadsheet.

The below spreadsheet is an example of how a user’s internal spreadsheet regarding the document may look:

Example of a spreadsheet generated by user’s software

As you can see, the ordering of Field columns is different on this spreadsheet.

This is a one time process and only needs to be repeated if there is a change in the template variable fields which will subsequently cause a change in the spreadsheet template.

  1. Log into your Leegality Dashboard & click on the Workflow Button

  1. On the workflow screen, click on the actions dropdown for the relevant workflow & click on Custom Mapping

Once you click on the ‘Custom mapping’ button, upload your internal spreadsheet format file.

Leegality will read the spreadsheet and isolate the headers from that sheet which will be presented in a dropdown against every field in Leegality’s spreadsheet template as shown below.

Leegality takes into consideration each cell (containing text) of the first row as a header.

Each field can now be mapped to a header in the user’s internal spreadsheet e.g. here ‘Name of borrower x 2 & Invitee name (1)’ can be mapped to the Borrower Name in the User spreadsheet

Thus unlike the Leegality spreadsheet where the user needs to fill the duplicate fields, they can simply map a single field in their spreadsheet to multiple fields.

All the headers recognized (marked in green) from the user spreadsheet can be accessed from the dropdown and assigned to a particular field in the Leegality spreadsheet (marked in red)

Example of a finalized mapping

Once all the fields have been mapped, the User can use their own internal spreadsheet to send out Workflows
