Fingerprint Capture - Aadhaar Esign

Leegality’s Aadhaar Signature type allows users to sign using their fingerprint via a registered biometric device connected to a Windows PC or Android Mobile phone.


Steps to activate Aadhaar biometric sign type

Step 1: Click on the “Account” option then go into the ‘Department’ tab and then click on the “eSignature”




Step 2: Toggle on “Aadhaar Biometric” and click on “Update”.

Step 1: Once the document is created or while creating the workflow, on the invitee page, select the eSignature type as “Aadhaar.



Step 2: Once the Aadhaar Esign is toggled on a side window will appear to enable “Biometric thumb scan”.




Signing Journey

Prerequisites for Signing via Aadhaar biometric

Leegality’s Aadhaar sign supports fingerprint-based e-signing using the Morpho 1300 E3 biometric device.

Step 1: Once the signing invite is sent with the Aadhaar biometric configured, during the signing journey, the signer will get an option to select signing using biometric.



Step 2: Once you select the type of ”Biometric scan”, click on “proceed”  and agree to the consent to proceed with signing the document.


Step 3: Once the user has reached the NSDL page, it will proceed to detect if the Biometric device has been connected to the system.

Step 4: Post successful detection of the biometric device, enter the Aadhaar number and check the consent box and click on “capture”.



Step 5: Click on “Ok” and place your finger on the biometric.


Step 6: Once the biometric device has captured the fingerprint, the below pop-up will appear.



Step 7: Post clicking on “Ok”, the signer will be redirected to the below page. The document has been signed using an Aadhaar biometric.




Note: Audit trail shows the signature has been captured using the Aadhaar biometric device.
