Aadhaar eSign Signature Journey (OTP)

A signer will need to access their e-mail (and/or phone, depending on the contact details given during the invitation creation stage) to eSign the document.

The signer needs to click on the ‘Sign’ button (for an email) or the signing link (for text message) to sign the document. This will redirect the Invitee to the Leegality eSign Gateway, where the entire document will be visible to the invitee. 

While signing the document you can view other signers by clicking on Invitees and download the document before signing the document.



A)The pop-up looks like below with the signer name and email ID/phone number with the Status if the document is signed.

B) Click on the download option to download the latest version of the document.



Click on the ‘Proceed’ button and Choose the type of Aadhar Sign.



Once you select the type of Aadhaar Sign, agree to the consent to proceed with signing the document.



The signer will be redirected to the “NSDL or Verasys” eSign authentication page.

NSDL Flow

Step 1: On the NSDL authentication page, the signer has to check the consent box.


Step 2: Enter the “Aadhaar Number”.


Step 3: Once the Aadhaar Number is entered, click on “Send OTP” to receive the OTP on the registered phone number.



Once the signer enters the OTP the Aadhaar e-Sign is completed. 



Verasys Flow 

Step 1: On the Verasys authentication page, click on the continue button and enter the “Aadhaar Number”.



Step 2: Once the Aadhaar Number is entered, click on “Send OTP” to receive the OTP on the registered phone number.





Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar registered mobile number/email and press “Verify & eSign”. 







Note: OTP can be requested a maximum of 3 times within an hour for Aadhaar Esign, once the limit is reached, try signing the document after an hour using the same process.

Note: Refreshing or closing the page will switch the ESP from NSDL to Verasys or vice-versa.
